There are three ArcGIS Desktop license levels: Basic, Standard, and Advanced. Each successive level adds functionality to the previous level.

- A Concurrent Use license enables multiple users to share access to ArcGIS Desktop applications from any computer on a network or from a virtual machine. ArcGIS License Manager software installed on the network manages the distribution of a pool of shared licenses.
- Concurrent Use licenses use ArcGIS License Manager, whereas Single Use licenses can be managed via ArcGIS Administrator. Note: If the license(s) can no longer be accessed for deauthorization (due to a system failure, system loss or destruction or the number of deauthorizations allowed within a year has been exceeded), follow the steps in How.

ArcGIS Pro can also be purchased separately from ArcGIS Desktop as part of an ArcGIS subscription. You can purchase subscription-based licenses at any license level you want because they are independent of your ArcGIS Desktop licenses.
